If you get it, you'll like it. Here at Gowanus Furniture Co., we like our glued joints tight and our cutting boards cerebral.  The walnut stripes are a visual representation of the Fibonacci sequence - the maple spacing is 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, etc., as you can see. You're probably thinking either, "amaaAAAaaaaazing!!" or perhaps "My weird math nerd friend would probably like this, I guess..." You can read more about it here, but basically it's a sequence that frequently appears in nature and can be used to explain natural phenomena. We were fans way before its recent resurgence in popular culture post-The Da Vinci Code nonsense, but we were hardly the first - the sequence has been known since the 13th century. (It's like how I can't wear my Unknown Pleasures shirt anymore... ugh.)
