Traditionally 24-karat bracelets are produced with the idea that one can exchange them for money if difficult times arise without much depreciation. Sevan Biçakçi's bracelets are created as a gesture to negate this tradition, hoping that the bearer may always keep their bracelet remaining in abundance. The fastening dagger of the lock is an aesthetic reference to Sevan's surname, "Biçakçi" which means "Bladesmith" when translated. The name originated from Sevan's blade-smithing heritage, beginning with his great-grandfather being summoned to the Ottoman palace to forge weaponry for the army.
