Artist: Hendrik Pothoven (Dutch, 1725-1795), painter and draughtsman, working in Amsterdam.Engraver: Pieter Willem van Megen (Dutch, 1750-1785), engraver, working in The Hague and Paris.Title:  Portrait of Elbertus Leoninus (Dutch1519/ 1520-1598 (c.), a juridical professor from 1548 till 1579 in Louvain. During the Eighty Years' War an important person, mediated between the Netherlands and Don John of Austria.
