The posters measure 29” x 21.25” and have been professionally linen backed. The bottom of each poster is printed “Columbia Special Products/CBS Records/New York” and has a 1968 copyright by King Features Syndicate – Subafilms, Ltd. The Yellow Submarine album was released in January 1969 as the soundtrack of the 1968 Yellow Submarine animated film that had been released a few months prior. These posters were probably used for record store advertising and promotional purposes or as a merchandise tie-in to the album. The artwork for these posters was created by Heinz Edelmann who worked as art director and character designer on the Yellow Submarine animated film.
