Turner created several of these maps for the Globe and Mail newspaper in Toronto and then licensed the maps to the C.C. Peterson advertising agency for distribution in the United States where they were often overprinted and distributed as advertising novelties. This map doesn’t cite the edition as seen on later maps but the lower margin is printed with 1942 copyright by C.C. Peterson Advertising of Toronto. This map denotes several war events with the latest we find being the Japanese defeat at the Battle of Coral Sea on May 5-7, 1942.
