McKesson Advanced Collagen Wound Care Dressing   Advanced, topically applied wound dressing transforms into a cool, soothing gel upon contact with fluid that leaks out of blood vessels into nearby tissue.  The fluid is made of cells, proteins, and solid materials. Exudate may ooze from cuts or from areas of infection or inflammation.   Features: Advanced, topically applied wound dressing transforms into a cool, soothing gel upon contact with exudates. Made from fish-derived collagen, sodium alginate, carboxyl methylcellulose (CMC) and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). Alginate and CMC allow dressing to absorb wound drainage, while maintaining an optimal moisture balance to aid in the formation of granulated tissue and epithelialization. The EDTA in the dressing removes zinc to inhibit the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP), thus creating a suitable environment for wound healing. Sheets may be trimmed to exact wound size and/or layered for the management of deep
