Authentic Pre-Columbian Monochrome Whistling Artifact from the Northern Coast of Peru. This vessel from the Moche/Mochica Culture dates from the Early Intermediate Period circa 400-700 AD. Double stirrup Vessel in overall tannish-cream color. Artifact has whistle that sound when finger placed over small whole at front and displays figure with wing like ears and pronounced nose (frequent feature in Moche figures). Piece has 2 repaired breaks at stirrup (see pics) along with hole that was most likely made during probe used in excavation. Artifact shows all appropriate patina and aging and mineral deposits for a piece this age. Approx. 7 1/8 inches in width (18.09cm) by 5 7/8 inches in height (14.92cm).
