Authentic Han Dynasty Pottery Kneeling Figure ca 206 BCE to 220 CE with COA
Elegant authentic Chinese Han Dynasty ( circa. 206 BCE to 220 CE.) Pottery Kneeling Figure. Fine hand-built pottery kneeling figure sculpted in the classic Han style. The figure has a thin, flat base with twin perforated projections suggestive of bent knees beneath a flowing courtier robe; remains of the original black and white surface pigment are still visible. Though only half as tall as typical Han Dynasty figural depictions, this is a singular figure and not one half of a larger model. Size: 6.7" H (17 cm). Comes with certificate of authenticity from well respected gallery (where it was purchased) that deals in Antiquities. Condition: Head repaired from several pieces. Age-commensurate surface wear, fading to pigmentation, small chips to base and around peripheries, with nice earthen and mineral deposits throughout.
