Easy to use by turning the wings to the desired time, release and then the timer starts. ADVICE - Mechanical kitchen timers operate using a spring mechanism - it's the spring that makes them ping. It is essential to wind the spring up completely for best results. Simply wind the timer up anti clockwise to 60 minutes - now wind it back and set the pointer to the required time.
