1983 Carved and Painted Wood Pennsylvania Dutch Folk Art Distelfink Signed A. Kohr Southeastern Pennsylvania
Description: A nice primitive folk art small carved solid wood sculpture in the form of a Distelfink bird standing on a domed base. The body of the bird is maroon with the wings having a yellow-brown decoration. The tail and the neck of the bird is colored with the yellow-brown coloring with maroon decoration. The bird's head is maroon with its beak being yellow and its eye yellow with a black center. The bird is looking backwards. The body shows no detail except for a general shape of the wings, head, and tail. The piece is signed and dated. The piece is made in the best Folk Art tradition of the Pennsylvania Germans common in Lancaster County Pennsylvania.
