Overview Specs Plan Info General Information: The J-45 made its debut in 1942 and has been a top-seller for Gibson ever sense its introduction. This guitar is commonly known as a "round shouldered dreadnought" and has also be nicknamed "The Workhorse". Many top recording artists have made this one of their guitars of choice due to its appealing tone and balance and will be a favorite for you too, if you decide to build one of these great guitars. Traditional woods used for the J45 are Sitka Spruce top and Ribbon-Cut Honduras Mahogany back and sides. Most often these guitars sport an amber to dark brown sunburst finish.
