Summer Herbal Apprenticeship II - 4 Sundays in July
For those of you who cannot attend the camping trip, we are offering this apprenticeship as a separate option. This summer we are excited to offer a personalized, hands-on herbal apprenticeship, unstructured and unusual in that the curriculum will be shaped by the needs and interests of the student apprentices as well as the plants we meet in our raised-bed herb garden. We will work with the raised-bed herb garden at Gathering Thyme, learning basic organic gardening, plant propagation techniques and cultivation, harvesting and drying techniques. A variety of medicine-making techniques will be taught depending on the plants that come forward and the interests of the group. Students will bring home medicines made in class as well as plant monographs and medicine making instructions. Some of the plants we can look forward to working with from our herb garden include: Calendula, Comfrey, Tulsi, Chamomile, Violet, Mugwort, Self-Heal, Monarda (Bee Balm), Rosemary, Wood Betony, Spearmint,
