Half-Adjacent Triangles Physical Smocking Templates

Smocking patterns show groups of points to gather together in order to produce a repeated (tessellated) texture on the opposite side of the fabric. Clear templates with connected points are the easiest way to transfer smocking patterns onto fabric - a big improvement over the traditional method of drawing a grid on your fabric, then marking the groups of points! These 12"x12" templates come in two pattern densities - coarse and fine - and are made like a stencil from flexible PET plastic. The Half-Adjacent Triangles smocking pattern features a hexagonal arrangement of triangle puffs and I came up with this design by finding what points came together in the eponymous origami tessellation.
