AGNES STUDIO Inspired by the work of “ La Lecture des Pierres” of French intellectual Roger Calois, and his ideas on the paradoxical idiosyncrasy of stones and the beauty of hidden beneath their outer shell once cut open.Forged by eons of cycles of and order chaos, these stones as all living things, are nothing but stardust arranged and born from the universe and a little serendipity.In an homage or attempt to replicate the beauty born out of chaos, we formulated and experimented with over 50 mineral ceramic glazes and countless variations, which then are applied to “fachaletas” or local “brick tiles” traditionally used for construction purposes.The intention of applying a mineral glaze, with unknown results to a humble utilitarian object, gives of the result of a wild array of tiles which when fired come out as surprising as cutting a stone open and finding an Agate in its core.The multiple different tiles are then arrayed in an order grid to create the “Minerales table”, a simple cub
