Bearon Vari-Speed Control Panel  Product Description 3-Phase Ice Eater compatible with our brand new Vari-Speed Axial Flow System.  The Ice Eater was originally designed to prevent ice from forming around boats, marinas, docks, and piers as well as effectively melting existing ice by breaking the surface with a continuous current of warmer bottom water. Following the lead of the Cornell System, Oyster Farmers began using the Ice Eater in the 90’s to act as an axial flow pump in their Floating Upweller Systems.  The Ice Eater is constantly trying to empty the central trough in the Floating Upweller System, drawing water from each silo and creating flow through the seedbed. Product Features The design of the Ice Eater’s venturi shroud (housing) with outwardly flared ends, provides more upward thrust & draws warmer water from greater depths than other conventional de-icers.
