RCA 12AU7 (Plate Options)

RCA Black Plate- The king of warmth and bass. Typically a noisy tube, we screen all black plates for extra low noise to make sure they can be used in just about any audio application. If budget allows these are a must for any system lacking in warmth or low end response. RCA Long Grey Plate- One of the best sounding US made tubes. This RCA 12AU7 may not come with the same quiet noise floor as it’s clear top twin, but it certainly out competes most tubes for warmth and tonal definition.  RCA 12AU7A Clear Top-   Known for their rich, warm tone, and their extra low noise floor 12AU7 clear tops are classic. Best used in sensitive audio applications.  Any of these RCA 12AU7's would have been found stock in vintage Fender, Gibson, Macintosh, Marantz, Supro, Danelectro, Hammond and Silvertone Amps, just to name a few...
