The Legendary Mullard 12AX7  Made in Great Britain throughout the 50's and 60's, Mullard valves are regarded by many as the best vacuum tubes ever made. They are legendary for their tonal complexities, balance, low noise floor, and longevity. Rivaled only by Telefunken (for audio applications).  What makes Mullard special? Mullard 12AX7's are a high gain tube with a very low noise floor. These two qualities make them great for vintage high wattage amplifiers (or clones).  When should I splurge? At Fuzz Audio we consider Mullard 12AX7's a must for any vintage Marshall, VOX or Orange amplifier. Not only because they were found stock in these amps originally but because they are unique to the British amp sound with lots of mids, while maintaining a balanced bottom and top end.  The British Sound It is no coincidence that British tubes and amps are both mid centric. Mullard tubes are an integral part of the vintage British amp sound. Because Mullards have lots of mids, so to did the Mars
