Matsushita 12AX7 (Japanese Mullard Clone)
Matsushita 12AX7's are catching on quickly as they sound amazing and are much more affordable than some of their contemporaries like the Mullard or Telefunken 12AX7. It remains a mystery as to why these tubes are so similar to the Mullard 12AX7. It is unclear if Matsushita had direct help from Mullard during the manufacturing process, if they used their machines, or if they simply copied Mullard from scratch. Whatever method they used, like Mullard, it is clear Matsushita was dedicated to precision. While, these do sound excellent in any audio application, they are best suited for Vox and Marshall amps. Plugging in one of these Mullard clones in V1 or 2 of your Marshall stack will not let you down. This tube could quite possibly be the best tube for "pushed mids" ever... but we will let you decide.
