This THREE DISC set (1DVD+2CDs) features JORMA KAUKONEN & VITAL PARTS live at the Rockpalast on 29th November 1980 at Kleine Westfalenhalle, Dortmund. JORMA KAUKONEN founded JEFFERSON AIRPLANE together with Paul Kantner and Marty Balin and has been quoted as saying that the band name was based on his own nickname, Blind Thomas Jefferson Airplane, which reflects Jorma's love of the blues and specifically Blind Lemon Jefferson. Parallel to his membership with JEFFERSON AIRPLANE, Jorma founded his own band, HOT TUNA, with which he tours to this day. He has always been more interested in blues and American roots music (blue grass) than in rock. Before going completely independent, HOT TUNA performed as part of or following concerts by JEFFERSON AIRPLANE. JORMA KAUKONEN was born in Washington, D.C. in 1940.
