LonginesUltra-ChronRare Dial / Gold Filled Monocoque Case/ 1960s Intro This Longines Ultra-Chron from the 1960s features an extremely rare dial where the sunburst radiates out from the calendar window. It also boasts a unique 'front loader' monocoque gold-filled case. Personally, I also love the Art Deco numeral indexes. This is truly a beautiful piece that any watch collector can appreciate. Story The Longines Ultra-Chron is a watch that ticks all the boxes that we require of a proper vintage dress piece. Introduced in the late 1960s and produced for only six years, the Ultra-Chron is an early attempt by the brand to mass-produce a mechanical watch that, according to their advertisements, was "the world's most accurate watch... guaranteed accurate to within one minute per month." This was achieved with the hi-beat Caliber movement, which had a beat rate of 36,000 beats per hour. Detail MODEL Ultra-ChronYEAR1960sCASE35mm (excl. crown), 10K Gold-FilledMOVEMENTHi-Beat Automa
