Cameron Anne Mason came to fiber art through another passion, performance and installation art. She has since become an expert in a multitude of textile processes, from dyeing techniques to surface treatments and intricate stitching. Taking inspiration from her process of ice-dyeing, the sculptures showcased in Mason's The Fabric of Memory pay homage to the disappearing glaciers of Washington state. Materials: cottons, wool yarn, interfacing, rayon, cotton, and polyester threads, mounted on wood panel. Surface design techniques: ice gravity dyeing. Currently on display at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art's Northwest School Now exhibition which runs until September 22.
