Hadrosaurus is a genus of hadrosaurid ornithopod dinosaurs that lived in North America during the Late Cretaceous Period, about 80 million to 78 million years ago. They weighed up to 2 to 4 tons and were primarily quadrupedal dinosaurs as the rear legs were the main weight-bearing features and could have still reared up on their hind legs to reach higher food, and also been able to ‘run’ on just the rear legs when escaping predators.
