Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Illustrated by Arthur Rackham. #144 of 550 copies of a limited edition printed in the US signed, "Doubleday Page Co" (the publisher). Both number and signature in an identical red ink. William Heinemann/Doubleday Page Co. (no date - 1907?) "Proem" by Austin Dobson in front. 13 tipped-in illustrations by Arthur Rackham, each with facing tissue guards. 9" x 11 1/2" ix, 162 pages Hardcover with no dust jacket. Gilt lettering and Cheshire Cat on front cover and spine may be slightly faded, but are still quite bright. Green boards with Alice illustration affixed to front cover. Brown spotting to covers. Moderate wear to the to and bottom of the spine, a bit heavier to the cover tips. Some other cover edge wear. Bright gilt on the top of the page block. Tanning to the front and back endpapers. Binding had been completely separated at the endpapers, now expertly repaired by a local book restorer leaving little evidence of the problem. Tanning
