Western Snowy Plover Original Painting

This sweet little Snowy Plover is painted in acrylic on canvas. I was inspired to paint this plover because while on a long beautiful hike along the Oregon coast, a part of the path in the middle of the sand dunes with a sign that asked everyone to not leave the trail because the ‘threatened’ Western Snowy Plovers were nesting in the area. They are the only coastal, bird species to exclusively nest in sand dunes. We actually saw one, what a joy! I’m constantly inspired by the Pacific Northwest and love to appreciate the natural world through my art.  This piece is on wrap around canvas  measurements 20x16 inches
