
Ultralight Fly Box
I've ordered literally dozens of different fly boxes to try to find one I loved, and the best one turned out to not be a fly box at all. What we have here was originally made to be a pill box, apparently for those people who only need to take important medications 6 days a week. While it is perhaps a pill box of dubious utility, it is a fantastic little fly box. It's small enough to fit inside just about any pocket. It is extremely light (0.6 oz or 16 g). It won't float if submerged for extended periods of time, but it'll definitely stay afloat long enough for you to realize you dropped it into the water and for you to desperately try to get it back. I know this from personal experience. Multiple personal experiences. It'll hold lots of flies. How many exactly it will hold depends on how big your flies are and how much you want to cram them in. I can comfortably fit about 15 of my typical flies (size 12 tenkara flies in both soft and stiff hackle varieties) in each compartment. Multipl
