Historically, the Ashanti Kings’ sacred wooden stools, as well as symbolic warrior masks and other ornaments, were all handmade by Ghana’s talented wood carvers. The Ahwiaa Wood Carvers Association carries on this legacy by continuing the practice of traditional wood-carving today.
