Gallop/ Skip Roll-Out Activities®

The Gallop/ Skip Roll-Out Activities® is an all time favorite! Whether the kids skip the figure 8 pattern continuously, or choose to gallop moving from right to left lead, the figure 8 pattern will help kids attend visually to the task while performing these interrelated skills! Teachers can observe the natural flow of changing leads (right/left) as children gallop/move along the figure 8 pattern. Figure 8 designs are commonly used to promote midline crossing. Ask your kids to put their hands together making a pointer. Have them trace the pattern in the air BEFORE they take their turn. Add the challenge of standing on one foot while tracing the pattern with the other! Enter and exit have been added so kids can take 2-3 loops before exiting the mat and moving to the next station or going back in line with their group.
