Sumak Rug 8' x 10'

Sumak Rug 8' x 10'. A technique rather than a specific type, in which warps are wrapped by colored wefts to create a pattern. Caucasian, Turkish, Persian and other types. Produces a flat surface, pileless rug which may be turned over for extended use. Lends itself to geometric patterns. Caucasian /Sumaks are the most common, in scatter and larger sizes. Also used on bag faces and as a partial design element on pile rugs.
