Vintage Bakhtiari Rug 9'11'' x 10'6''. The field is divided into a seven by eight array of squares depicting vignettes including: cypresses, weeping willows, oblique flowering branches, vases and medallions, all in shades of cream, red, dark blue, medium blue, yellow and salmon. Abrashed red to rust-red border of cypresses, palmettes, and corner three posy plants. Moderate/medium weave on cotton. Saturated palette. Good condition. Unusual size. From the Chahar Mahal weaving area in west-central Persia.
