One of the leading lights of the Scandinavian modernist movement, Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) developed his pioneering bentwood construction for furniture to allow for better mass production. The "L-leg" was introduced in 1933 and used in tables, chairs, stools and other home examples. This small 47" dining table in bent-birchwood has a black laminate top displaying Aalto's organic and humanistic approach to design. Manufactured by Artek, Finland.
