Friberg spent two months at Buckingham Palace to sketch Her Majesty, Centenial, and the landscape of Buckingham Palace. The original painting, a majestic 5 feet tall and 8 feet wide, was unveiled at the Governor’s House in Victoria, B.C. in 1994. However, Friberg, ever the perfectionist, continued to put the finishing touches on the painting for several years. The Royal Equestrian Portrait is the perfect tribute to the well-loved Queen Elizabeth II.
