Teardrop (New Zealand jade) Pendant

Roimata, the teardrop, is important in Maori design. The first designs are said to come from the tears shed during the separation of Ranginui (Sky father) and Papatuanuku (Earthmother). The modern-day meaning for the wearer has transformed to mean healing and growth after difficult challenges. This pendant also comes with a corded necklace that was hand braided.
