"Pullin’ On My Heartstrings" is the new single from New York-based vocalist and producer Billy the Kid. The follow-up to his 2015 debut single, "Save a Little Love for a Rainy Day," "Heartstrings" was recorded and mixed on an 8-track tape machine and showcases Billy’s refined production skills, with compositions relying heavily on the sound of the Maestro Rhythm King drum machine, Farfisa organ, and piano. Falsetto vocals and a lush string section round out the arrangements and harken back to an era when soul 45s were king. Composed of members from The Shacks, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and Charles Bradley's Extraordinaires, The Soulful Saints serve as the perfect backing band for these vocal features and they shine on the Allen Toussaint-inspired instrumental cut, Hit and Run.
