Primitive Gourd Cupboard Hanging with Autumn Flavor
Enough with the warm weather, I am thinking of Autumn which was my inspiration for this next unique offering. This "one of a kind" creation using interesting shaped gourds was almost like working with pieces of a puzzle that have to fit properly into that specific shape. These gourds were hand chosen to hang strategically and this was no easy task but the time and effort were worth it. After these were laid out, holes had to be drilled to accommodate the string for hanging each gourd in place. The curvy necks were positioned to form a cluster that creates a cascading effect that I am sure your cupboard door will adore! I also added Indian corn and the kernels have a chocolate brown and midnight black primitive color that compliments the gourds very well. Aged cheesecloth was wrapped on the top and bottom gourd to add softness and lend contrast to the mix. Beautiful dried quince with the most wonderful pumpkin color accents the cheesecloth splendidly.
