Mini Silk-Covered Box Set

This is a fun and unusual set of mini, silk-fabric covered boxes with lids. The red, gold, green and black boxes tuck into a black, silk-covered tray. The lid of each box is padded and has a tiny handle made of a rope like material, like a mini monkey's fist.   The history of these boxes is unclear. They were most recently used for storing small sewing accessories like thimbles and tiny spools of thread. Each box is 1.5" square and 1.5" tall. The dimension of all the boxes together in the tray is 3 5/8" square. The set is in good condition over all, with a few signs of wear consistent with age. The top corner of the red box it pulling apart slightly.   These would be great to store jewelry, trinkets or other small items on your dresser, vanity, or sewing table. The possibilities are endless!
