All of our 316 Stainless Carriage Bolts have rolled threads for strength, and up to 6" of thread length. Lengths 6" or less are fully threaded, and lengths over 6" will have 6" of thread. Also known as coach bolts or plow bolts, these carriage bolts with a rounded head and square neck are an excellent choice when attaching wood to wood or wood to metal. The square neck will prevent the bolt from spinning in place when a nut is tightened to secure the fastener. Don't settle for a lesser alloy, these passivated 316 Stainless Steel (A4) Carriage Bolts, or coach bolts as they're often called, are far more corrosion resistant than their 304SS (A2) counterparts due to the higher nickel content and addition of molybdenum in the alloy. If your carriage bolts are to be used in a marine or otherwise corrosive environment, then upgrading to 316SS over 304SS is a worthy investment.
