The Charger is a car sold by Dodge which has numerous variants across seven generations, manufactured from 1966 to the present day. For 1968, the Charger was revamped, with an initial manufacturing run of 35,000 vehicles planned. The demand was so high that 96,100 Chargers were made. The model years had several cosmetic improvements from the appearance to the interior. Including an undivided grill, rounder tail lights, and hidden headlights. The engines were carried over from 1967, however, the 225 cubic inch (3.7 litre) slant-6 was introduced in mid-1968. In stock car racing, such as NASCAR, the Charger was a flop. The Charger 500 model, which served as the foundation for the 1969 Charger Daytona, had a more aerodynamic profile.
