The Brian Jonestown Massacre is a psychedelic rock band originally from San Francisco, California, led by guitarist and singer Anton Newcombe. Beginning in 1995, The Brian Jonestown Massacre released numerous albums, first on BOMP!, the label that gave them their start, and later on TVT Records and Tee Pee Records. The band was essential in the development of the modern U. S. garage scene, and many LA and SF musicians got their start playing with Newcombe, including Peter Hayes of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
