
Standing Desk Carpet Spikes
If you have really thick carpet, you may notice that your furniture tends to wobble. This can be especially annoying at a standing desk. Fortunately - we have come up with a solution. Spikes! Just swap out the leveling feet on your desk frame with these pointy puppies and your desk will be as stable as it would be on hardwood. How do the spikes work? The spikes focus the weight of your desk on a much narrower area, better transmitting force to the subfloor under your carpet. This effectively makes your desk feel like it’s not sitting on carpet at all. Will the spikes pierce my carpet? It depends on the carpet, but generally, yes. For this reason, it is important not to drag your desk around. That said - since the spikes dig in a bit to your subfloor as well, it would be really hard to drag the desk around anyway. So long as you just place your desk in one spot and leave it there, the spikes will not harm your carpet. In fact - high end home theaters have been using spikes like
