2019 Joseph Drouhin Beaune 1er Cru Grèves Eta W/O 3-31-25

One of the finest vintages of Drouhin's Beaune Greves, the 2019 here is exceptional and one of the rarer selections from this great address. While this isn't a wine we often offer from Drouhin, this vintage is so good and is starting to show very well after 5+ years in the bottle. One of the largest vineyards in Beaune, Greves, is located in the central part of the appellation. Drouhins vines here come from the slightly more sought-after upper portion of the vineyard, which has been organically farmed since the 80s and biodynamically cultivated since the 90s. Drouhin considered this one of the wines that fully represents Beaune the most with its excellent red fruit and spiced soil character. This sees 30% whole cluster, which is a great addition in this slightly warmer vintage, adding complexity and some savory notes. This is on par with the Clos de Mouche Rouge this vintage, which is uncommon for this cuvee but very welcome, making this a fantastic buy at slightly lower pricing. This
