2013 is an outstanding vintage for Blanc de Blancs Champagne, and we have a beautiful example from Dom Ruinart today. The 2013 Blanc de Blancs is a milestone vintage from Maison Ruinart, founded in Reims in 1729 and recognized as Champagne's oldest house. Crafted entirely from Grand and Premier Cru Chardonnay (split roughly 70% Côte des Blancs, 30% Montagne de Reims across eight villages) and harvested by hand, this cuvée spent nine years on lees before manual disgorgement and features a dosage of 5.5 g/L—making it only the second Dom Ruinart vintage aged under cork. It's cool, with a delayed harvest (late September), delivering wines of remarkable crystalline precision and taut acidity. It's an outstanding Blanc de Blancs, showing a satin-smooth build, lithe minerality, and a detailed aromatic spectrum—from oyster-shell and croissant through lemon curd, hazelnut, and spice.
