Manjushree Thangka Art Introduction To The Thangka : In Mahayana Buddhism literature, Manjushri is considered as the oldest and most prominent Bodhisattva. Manjushri was referred to as the embodiment of ultimate wisdom in early Mahayana literature known as the Prajnaparamita Sutra. Vimala, the Lotus Sutra-assigned pure country, is regarded as one of the two best pure lands in the past, present, and future. How to take care of your thangka? -Hang your thangka in a traditional silk brocade-Regular Inspection of your thangka; examine the borders and all attachments.-Keep thangkas covered when they are on display but not in use.-Rotate thangkas between display and storage on a regular basis, two to four times a year, to reduce the amount of exposure to light.
