Material: ABSFeatures:Product Background:The CFM International RISE (“Revolutionary Innovation in Sustainable Engines”) is an open rotor engine currently under development by CFM International, a 50/50 joint venture between GE Aerospace (USA) and Safran Aero Engines (France). The engine is planned to support both hydrogen and sustainable aviation fuels and to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 20 percent compared to its predecessor. The 1973 oil crisis led to rising oil prices in the 1970s, prompting engine manufacturers to investigate new technologies to reduce fuel consumption, including open-rotor (also known as propeller-fan) engines. However, none of these designs were used in production airplanes, largely because of falling oil prices and concerns about the high noise levels of these engines.In the years leading up to the announcement of the RISE program, both Safran and GE Aviation had experimented with open-rotor-based engine designs. Safran ground-tested an open-r
