Catnip (Nepeta cataria) Essential Oil

CANADA. Catnip (Nepeta cataria) Essential Oil, Steam Distilled, Organic Catnip is part of the amazing Mint family (Lamiaceae) and its essential oil has a slightly minty, herbaceous scent. Aromatically it is considered a middle note for blending. Catnip essential oil is absolutely my favorite go-to oil for repelling insects and mosquitoes. It seems to be more effective than DEET as a mosquito repellant, an all natural alternative to harmful poisons and chemicals. Catnip has many beneficial properties including antimicrobial and antioxidant activity, and produces a calming effect on the nervous system. We also have Catnip herb available, grown in the Pacific Northwest, which makes a lovely addition to teas, especially for children, to help support and calm the nervous system.
