Birch, Sweet (Betula lenta) Essential Oil, Organic, Steam Distilled  Sweet Birch essential oil, distilled from bark, has a sweet, bright, slightly minty scent, similar to Wintergreen essential oil. It is considered a top to middle note aromatically. This oil is said to induce feelings of strength, vitality, and warmth. It has long been used for its anti-inflammatory properties. High in methyl salicylates, it is popular for relieving sore muscles. Sweet Birch essential oil is one of the star ingredients in our Muscle Rub Salve for just this reason! It makes a great addition to liniments or other soothing balms. It is said to be a tonic, disinfectant, stimulant and antidepressant, analgesic, detoxifier, and anti-arthritic. Furthermore, it is a diuretic, antiseptic, astringent, febrifuge, germicide, insecticide, and depurative.
