Agatized Fossil And Copper Cuff

The ocean's roar is music to my soul. A wonderful piece of agatized fossil coral, with it's creamy background and copper inclusions, is set in a copper bezel sitting atop a hand stamped square copper layer.  The band, using laser textured paper with a beautiful leaf print, was rolled through my rolling mill to give it lots of added detail.  The copper was then oxidized and coated in a protective lacquer to protect the patina as well as the wearer. Such a fun piece that goes with everything. Cuff is size Small-Medium: measuring 6 " with a 1 1/4" opening and semi adjustable. Fossil coral is a natural type of gemstone formed by ancient corals. The proper name for fossil coral is 'agatized coral' or 'agatized fossil coral', because during formation, the coral remains are gradually replaced with agate, a variety of naturally occurring chalcedony, or microcrystalline quartz. All my pieces are handmade and created one of a kind- one at a time.  Made entirely by me in my Northern California
