Faith on the Path

For some, a reminder to hold faith on the path; for us, an eye-catching moment at our favorite flea when we spied this antique cross pendant in a longtime collector’s display case. The dark, nearly-black resin cross is decorated at center with gorgeous gilt brass leaves and a glass costume pearl and becomes a striking statement at the center of two strands of a favorite gemstone, prehnite. A translucent bright and pale green shows off inclusions of deep olive green, brown, and even black, ranging from floaty flakes, needle-like striations, and leafy bits; unusual and alluring. A gilt copper hook clasps the strands at 18” length. Cross measures 3.5” length.
