Artist: Hiroshi Yoshida 吉田博: (1876-1950) Title:  In a Temple Yard (Temple Bell Tower) 櫻八題 鐘楼 Series: Eight Scenes of Cherry Blossoms (Sakura hachidai) Date: 1935 Kane zakura, Cherry Blossoms Bell, or Temple Bell Tower. The hakamagoshi type of a shuro (traditional Buddhist temple bell) is shown reflected in the shallow waters that have collected on the temple grounds after a spring rain. Three women in traditional kimono with babies on their backs admire the scene from beneath a large flowering cherry tree. It is possible that some zinc blocks were used in the reflections in the water. Condition: Excellent impression, color and condition. Dimensions: ôban 40.5 x 27.2 cm.
