History: The Big Hurt spent 19 seasons in Major League Baseball, playing for the Chicago White Sox for the first 16 of those seasons. Frank Thomas made his Major League debut in August 1990 and quickly established himself as both a power hitter and a reliable presence on base. In 1991 he won his first Silver Slugger Award and led the league in on-base percentage while also racking up 32 homers and 109 RBI. Two years later in 1993 Thomas joined Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, and Ted Williams as the only players to hit over .300, 20+ homers, and more than 100 RBI, runs, and walks in three straight seasons. Batting .317 with 41 homers, 128 RBI, 106 runs, and 112 walks that season Thomas was unanimously voted American League MVP.
