Salix gracilistyla Lovely pink catkined pussy willow. Great as a cut flower, or brouhgt in side to force over winter. Easy to grow as an ornamental shrub. Cut it back every year or two to keep it the stems bright and things from getting to rangey. Also used for basket making. Willows are extremely hardy and adaptable to wet soils. Shrub species make a great deer-resilient deciduous hedge or buffer. Willows are an important early-pollen source for native pollinators!
